Recently, a modern strawberry soilless culture greenhouse in Hanzhong City, Shaanxi Province, has been successfully completed and put into use, marking a new stage of refined and high-efficiency development of local protected agriculture.
Abandoning the traditional soil-based planting mode, the greenhouse innovatively adopts a soilless cultivation combination scheme of seedbed + coconut coir strips. Coconut coir strips boast excellent air permeability and strong water and fertilizer retention capacity, creating a loose and fertile growth environment for strawberry roots and effectively reducing soil-borne diseases. Meanwhile, seedbed cultivation realizes the three-dimensional layout of strawberry planting, which not only greatly improves the planting density per unit area, but also facilitates subsequent picking, pruning and maintenance operations.
To ensure the stable quality and yield of strawberries, the greenhouse is equipped with a comprehensive real-time environmental monitoring system. This system can continuously monitor key indicators such as air temperature and humidity, soil moisture content, light intensity and carbon dioxide concentration 24 hours a day. According to the needs of strawberries in different growth stages, it can automatically adjust the operation parameters of ventilation, irrigation, and other equipment, realizing precise and intelligent management.
Strawberries produced under the soilless culture mode are plump and uniform, with high sweetness and good taste. Moreover, their pesticide residue is far lower than the standards of traditional planting, meeting the current consumers' demand for green and healthy agricultural products. The commissioning of this greenhouse not only provides a practical model for the transformation and upgrading of the strawberry industry in Hanzhong City, but also opens up a new path for local agricultural efficiency improvement and farmers' income increase.
